Hi.

Right lets start.
I am getting a jewel rio 180 for xmas.
Inside of this tank i will be adding my tetra (all) and my plec and some discus.
I know all a need to know about discus so i do not need help with this.
what i do need help with is:
i am getting sand.
Will the sand go into the jewel Inbuilt filter and block it up? -_-
Also will the airpump be Too Noisy and too "wavey" (discus like hardly eny movement in tanks)

Thanks for your help.

Juwel filters create a lot of current so probably arent the best for Discus, they also have a nasty habbit of collecting a lot of crap inside the filter box which is difficult to remove and can cause horrendous nitrate problems, again not good for Discus. I would seriously look into using a external filter on the tank and removing the juwel filter box if Discus are to be the focus point of the tank.

I dont think you will have a problem with the sand and the filter, Like CFC said they collect a bit of crap in the box but if cleaned it will not build up.
As said already discus dont like fast currents, But i read somewhere about a guy who connected a small piece of hose to the out-let of the filter and connected a spray bar to it. It worked great for him and there was no fast current and yet the filter and heater were still enclosed nicely in the filter box.

i have some bogwood now that should be ok for the plex.
can any body tell me what tubes (lights) are in the multilux please.

thanks.
