Jewel Filter For Pufffers?

Just a quick question im wondering if my internal jewel filter is strong enough to use to keep 3 figure 8 puffers?

From what i read the puffers are very messy and the jewel filters are not very good at picking up much waste.

Can someone please enlighten me?

I keep puffers, and don't use the juwel filter with any of them. When I kept 3 Dwarf puffers in a 20g, I found even then the filter couldn't keep up. I removed all the itnernal filters on my juwel tanks since then, and use either external filtration, or strong internal filters. Puffers are messy fish for sure.

I can't really say without you saying which Juwel tank you have

Ok, it's around 30 gallons. That's probably not enough for 3 F8s, so it's a good idea to replace the juwel filter.

Fluval 205 might do it. The externals you'd be looking at should be rated for a tank around twice the size -

I wouldn't be able to say, it doesn't state the flowrate on the aquatics online store.

No worries! I use fluvals on all my tanks, and if you don't feel too experienced, you'll really appreciate the extra help you get with fluvals; they supply with their externals a setup DVD to watch and talk you through the steps.
