Hi
(this is a long post)

I am finally quite pleased with the look of my tank now, after a long time of Searching for the right pieces of wood and rocks, and waiting for the LFS to have Mosses and Saggitaria in stock...etc.

I have mentioned a long time ago that my layout resembles alot Georges (gf225) tank. I didnt intend on duplicating his layout btw, it jus happened to turn out this way. trust me :shifty:
Anyways, its a long shot from gf225s tank, as my fern, instead of producing leaflets from the Rhizome, keeps reproducing plantlets on the old leaves. My glosso carpet, which i tore down a week ago, was getting too thick and algea started to build up around the bottom (brown) and on the glass. I left a tiny bit in the tank cos it was too heart-breaking to take ALL of it out. I switched to Moss (pretty sure its Taiwan or Christmas moss) instead for easy maintainance.

well heres a few pics.

fish includes, 11 Cardinal tetras, 4 Apistogramma Borellis (Opal and yellow-faced), 4 Threadfin Rainbows, 1 Siamese Algea Eater, 4 Ottocinclus, 3 large Amano Shrimp, and 2 Red-Nosed Shrimp. Oh and 4 Kuhli Loaches.
Seems like alot of fish in text, but most are my Cleaning crew. Plus i will be getting a new External filter VERY soon, maybe tomorrow. I have 2 Aquaclears running now, overfiltering.

Please comment on my tank, be it a compliment or critisizm.
Advice and suggestions very welcome. ;)

Oh and i know, i shuddve turned off the lights in my dorm room but ahh well.

o are you in college right now

very nice tank i wish i was able to do that with my tank but i had to get right away from my grandpa with fish so couldnt even do a cycle but very nice tank keep up the good work

Thats is a really nice tank!!!! I wish my 29 gallon looked kind like that! My java fern keeps on producing leaflets too and i dont know where im gonna put them. Just a question wat type of light are you using??

Atmmachine: Thanks, yea I am in University (College, whatever) now.

Krib Crazy: Thanks. I currently have 3 Energy saving compact fluroscent bulbs over my tank (20 watt, 18 watt, and a 25 watt), along with a 15 Watt Life-Glo.

Wondeful. You might want to get some fish that'll swim through the forest on the left, that'll be really cool.
Maybe a centerpeice like a pair of angels.

I like it.....well done.

I really like your lighting. Very creative. The plant setup is very pretty :)

Loving the look of the tank. The tank itself looks very nice and your choice of fish is well complemented.. Although i can only see cardinals! Is it simply an all-glass bowfront? You don't seem to state actually how big the tank is? looks like a 25-30G to me?

Ben

Looks good! Nice work.

(I'd pull the sags out from the very front on the far left, but that's just me)

I'm with him :) the sag is hiding you fern.

I like the moss patches with the glosso growing around should be intresting to see it when it fills out.

What bulbs do you have in your lamps?

quote Squirrelbuddies' Your tank is fabulous! What is your substrate made up of?

My substrate is normal gravel, available at all 3 LFS around my around my area. Its got Tetra Initial sticks stuck in for fertilisation though.

Yes it is a bow front tho i am not sure what u mean by all glass? (does it mean no silicone? if so, then no, there is silicone  ) The tank is 29Gallons

I will look into pulling the sagg out over the left hand side.

I have 3 Energy Saving Compact Fluroscent bulbs in the lighting fixtures on the wall. Look back at one of my replies.

Thanks

Edit: Oh and btw, I got myself an External filter today. A Fluval 205. I know alot of ppl have a thing against Fluvals, but they are the best I could afford. I will post a pic asap.

I also got a lyretail black molly, for scum busting. Its not doing the job nicely yet. wait till it settles down.

I am gonna work on an entry for the Pinned topic in the planted forum. "members planted aquariums" or something like that. So keep an eye out if you are interested.

When i say All-Glass tank, that simply means that is not a tank by Juwel, Eheim, Fluval or whatever, it is a generic all-glass tank with no trim.

I have put up my entry in the pinned topic "members planted tanks". Have a look if you are interested.
