was just wondering if you could have a jaguar and a jack dempsey in a 240 4ft long ? with convicts as dithers?

No i would not reccomend it, as the jag grows also would need atleast a five foot...

I have done it with disasterous results after the good year and a half before

ye i guessed so just curious becasue of a topc below saying a jag and gt would be ok in 300 what bigish cichlids could work in 240 jd being one of them?

the thread your refering to was a 300-400l tank , even then depending on the dimensions of that tank it'd be a squeeze(i wouldnt try it).

I think the JD as the centre piece fish would work in tank that size once it grows it'll look awsome. Then you could have loaches or rainbow fish to go with it which would look really good.

hey ye im defianlty getting a jd just cant find one but was wondering what other cichlids could go with him ? any advice welcome
