Got the e1500. Works fine. Got to figure out what replacement filter media to get though...

It sounds like you have found an uncommon filter Dan. Although it may work great out of the box, there is something to be said for the availability of replacement parts. Before jumping out top buy an unknown brand, I would definitely check on parts availability. I have already had a problem in that particular area for a pair of filters that I bought in the past.

I don't actually have one of these, was just looking at some classifieds and saw one. It is made by JBL and seems to have lots of spare media

As long as you can get spare parts for it, not just media, almost any filter can work out well. These days almost all of them are fairly well made.
