I took ur advice and now I have tilted the slate against the tank so it looks like a little cave,

LOoks like not enough light.. and Remove the slate its crap for moss

Hehe the light is on ALOT so deff enough light.Also it was already on the slate when I bought it.My Betta seems to love his new cave now.

it's not all about leaving the light on a lot. light needs timing along with proper wattage. from my experience java moss does better in lower light setups

I think this has been said already, but from the picture you could do with spreading the java moss out a little more. If you've not read it, check the Java Moss/riccia attaching sticky post

I'm sure it'll kick into action after a while!
