hello,

the other day I decided to buy some java moss as its low maintenance and is fairly attractive, and I have bought some bamboo which I hope to cover with moss and some rocks too.

The only place I could purchase the moss was online, so i thought i was buying a plant with some roots that i could plant. Instead it cam in a cup and its just some strands. What do i do with these strands now?? Im totally bewildered and out of my depth lol

thanks in advance

alot of people tie the moss to wood, slate etc etc using cotton or fishing line. eventually it will take hold of the object its tied to and you can remove the cotton/fishing line :good:

Well, under right conditions, those strands can become a pest to get rid of, and ever-growing mass if I say. Java Moss is hard to get rid of. I have a few strands on ornaments that are bone-dry but green. I do think they should have atleast given you a fistful.

I have been given about a golf ball size bundle. How long can it stay in its cup as im too busy to secure it too anything tonight. And how delicate is moss, how tightly should i bind it??

Just put the moss right in the tank tie it down any way you want. I let mine grow lose in the tank I took it out no problem it did not take over. Play around with it see what works best. It does like cool water better then warm .
