Java Fern Brown Spots

Hey i have a java fern i think... that has brown spots on some of its leaves.. it was like this when i got it.. is there anything i can add to the water or any other treatment to get rid of the brown spots?

just for your info my tank hasent cycled yet if that makes a difference to what i can add to the water..

u shouldnt worry about those spots..if they are only under the leaves they are spores that new ferns will grow out of..but if they are on both sides its just dead cells in the plant..maybe if you add fertilizer to your tank it will regenerate..but what i usually do is snip the frond that has it on it at the bottom of the stalk.
