No, but I wanted a complete, self-contained eco system, which requires a plant eating fish. Goldfish eat plants so I might purchase a replacement, but only if I can cure ich without causing any stress to anything.

By the way, when I got the email saying I should post in the intro section, I was thinking "What's the point". But now, I'm like, "Wow, this forum rocks and is a great helpful community." Thanks to all who posted to far. Most likely, I will need to post my question in a more specific forum. It's not clear subforum is ideal because the tropical sub-forum should really be saltwater but it has most of posts about ich, and I think it's mostly a freshwater disease.
