Hey all,

I was thinking in the future of breeding some bettas. No not VT, probably something along the lines of DT or CT. I was at petcetera this weekend and they are having a huge sale. One of the things they had on sale was a "betta condo". It only holds 739ml of water, which equates to about 0.2G. I would never put a full grown betta in this, but is it too small for fry? They are on sale for 1.93 each which is why I thought of it. They are also stackable, though I don't think I would do that. This is what they look like, I wouldn't use the plant or gravel either. I just thought it would be a cheap way to get my jars ready. They don't have lids either, but I can remedy that.

As I said I do not want to breed right now, but probably in a year or two. I want to be fully prepped, which is why I was thinking of starting right now.

It is ok to jar with that container but I prefer to get beanie bean box that cost around 1.50 including shipping. :)

I am in Canada, so I fear it would cost considerabley more. As I said, I am just batting ideas around in my head. Kind of like thinking out loud. I like the beanie box idea. I was planning on looking on ebay to see what I could find. The main problem with that is I do not have a way to purchase anything online right now. I will look into it for the future though.

i would finish college and get married first or ask for beanie boxes for a wedding present............

I have no intention of doing this in the near future. My long term life plan includes opening my own fish store. When I do I want to be able to offer as much of my own stock as possible. This will include breeding bettas among other fish. I was just thinking out loud. I just wanted other people's opinons as I have heard beanie boxes and mason jars mentioned in the past. I may or may not pick them up. If I do they will be going into storage until I am ready to use them.

I checked out beanie boxes on Ebay and none are available to be shipped to Canada. I am sure if I did more research I would be able to get them. But because it really isn't a priority right now I am not going to at this moment.

Well, back to studying for me, darn finals!

Where are you in canada =O i got the same ad on my email =] i ahve 2 pet cetera cards but i lost one lol

I am on the west coast. I went to the Petcetera in Abbotsford, a friend forwarded the email to me. I got my girlies from there. They are all doing quite well considering the situation they were in when I found them.

Whoa kewl... I'm in vancouver =O Pet Cetera people are just plain evil.. there was this one petshop in like Richmond and it sold like 1 gallon tanks for a reasonable price so it'd be good for fry i guess :*
