Hi guys

A few years ago i bought a JAD aquarium that came with a long tube light. The tank is about 35L i think?? Dimensions are 10" x15" x14". After moving out of home I did not set my tank up again for a few years. I have recently set it up again but the light has blown. It is 32cm long (not inc silver bits on either end). Nowhere in Tasmania seems to stock this brand of tank (or even heard of them) and all their lights are either too short or long. I cannot even find a website for the company. Can anyone help?

Welcome to the forum EmmaRose.
That does indeed seem an unusual length for your fluorescent tube. You may need to replace the fixture end pieces with some that are for a more standard length tube. A simple 30 cm tube is fairly common here in the US and the fixtures are very easy to modify to make things fit. Another option, used more often by people trying to grow plants, is to replace the entire fixture with an upgraded fixture that simply mounts in the old holder. This is a picture of one on one of my tanks. The light strip looks original but the lights inside are definitely not standard.
