Pah, you boys have no taste. Pink and green is the way to go :p

Might have found another option - Sajicas. Too many choices! But at least I know now that the JDs would be ok with the cories.

I have a standard female JD aswell so there :p

T-bars are great. I currently have two, but they are getting pestered to high heaven by a certain convict (david?) Haha. The boss of my tank atm is my breeding pair of Port Acara though. Theres a suggestion right there, port acara? I have two currently, purchased from Sweet Knowle Aquatics in Stratford. Absolutely beautifull fish, real character and a little bit of attitude, yet at the same time i keep them with a group of oto's and japonica shrimp. So far, so good.

I'm not going to join the debate on JD or EBJD, as i love both equally. The EB's will always have a special place for me as my male was just magnificent, but i think if i had two side by side in a shop i would go for the standard one 9/10. That may surprise a few people? :good:

Thanks balajake. I would like a pair though and my worry is that they would get too aggressive when breeding. Other option would be Jewels. Any thoughts on them?
Single Jewels are quite calm really. Put a mate in & it's clobbering time for anything else if they get it on. lovely fish though.
Now, when you say a single Jewel, is this a single jewel in a tank by itself, or a single jewel with non jewel tankmates? I had a single Jewel, and that fish was satan re-incarnated

And Salam, are you only getting one jack or a pair? I have a pair and when they spawn, male Jack attacks everything. He bites me when I clean the tank, he tried to attack my cat through the glass. Just an evil little fish. So if you are planning on a having a pair, you may want to rethink cories.

I'm set on Tbars now, will definitely get them. They seem more peaceful than JDs and I don't need to upgrade in the future, but the tank will be perfect for them right from the beginning. Can I have apistogramma with them in addition to the cories?

You will be suprised how aggressive Cryptoheros can be. ;) when they breed you don't want any other cichlid in the tank.

Are there any more peaceful Apistos that could go? This thread started with JDs and now it's going round the Wrekin

Its not the Apisto's you need to worry about. T-bars will hammer any smaller cichlid if they breed.
