Why not rainbows? I'm biased of course, but they are a challenging fish to keep. They like clean water just like discus do, but in a more manageable kind of way. Rainbows need 50% weekly waterchanges (don't miss a week!) or they start getting white spots in their fins. And once mature, they are very beautiful fish. The fish in my signature is one of my M. Lacustris (aka blue rainbow, lake Kutubu rainbow, and turquoise rainbow.) Definately worth a shot. If you keep them like you should you will witness the breeeding behavior assuming you get females (they show the most color when they are breeding.) They aren't a hard fish to keep. They just need clean water and some veggies in their diet.
Right well, i went to the pet shop today and was talking about fish and discus, well he said their not really for me and their really hard (as you all said to me very kindly to me and we spent around an hour in the fish shop and we dicided to get a brackish tank we talked about the setup, fish ect of the tank and its the best way for me, and im very excited the guy from the fish shop is gunna come and help me set it up and all working.
i'm should be getting the tank this week/next week time and were gunna start setting it up so by christmas it will be ready for me
Sooooooo Excited
p.s. thanks guys for nocking some sence into me, greatly appreciated
Brackish tanks are kinda fun. Not too many people keep them, but those who do love them! They are a bit more complicated than a freshwater tank, yet not as difficult as marine to maintain. What kinds of fish are you gonna get?
