WeyHey !!! Hahaa... yeh ive tried looking for class ads but with no luck. Bought another 2 small pieces of live rock today for £15 from the same place. It's good quality rock so i'm not too bothered about the price.

I have another question.... I had a good stare into my tank earlier on and noticed these small white things about 2mm long, they look like shrimp, and they zip around the holes in the rocks. But they're doing it at some speed so there's no way i'll be able to take a photo of them. Any ideas on what they are?

Also I've got 2 turbo snails off a mate. Things are beginning to look good ! :good:

What's 'FOWLR' ?

Do you have a protein skimmer in this???

What type of lighting is it?

FOWLR = Fish Only With Live Rock

Do you have a skimmer - yes

Lighting - doesn't matter - it's corals that have a light demand not fish.

Thanks. I'm clueless about marine. I'm doing a bit of reading up though and getting plenty advice on here so hopefully get going soon. I just wish they would hurry up and deliver my tank

My lighting is only T8's 15W, i may upgrade within a few months to LED'S. I have no skimmer.
I'm slowly getting into the swing of things, although i may have made a rookie mistake by having the 2 turbo snails this early, but we'll see how it goes.

The best way to start out is with a fowlr tank, not saying its easy, but its easier :)

Anyway here's what mine is looking like as of today......

This is the best pic i could get of the Stomatella snail/slug, it is much more yellow in colour than the pic shows.

A quick question about Aiptasia. Does injecting them with lemon juice work to eradicate them?

I have heard that it works. I also know that if you squirt BOILING hot water onto them with like a turkey baster or a big syringe will kill them. I have not done this as mine were all close to other corals or zoas, but you should be just fine!

I tried the lemon juice method, and they retreated, shrivelled up and now look like they are melting. Think it worked :good:

Way to go! Did you actually have a needle on it to push into the anem? or just squirted at it?

No needle, i just positioned the syringe in the center of the anem until it closed around the syringe and then squirted around 5 drops. It worked instantly and no signs of them popping back up.

I'll keep you posted on if it has 100% worked though.
