KHULI LOACHES!! They're the cutest, wiggliest little fish ever! I've been saying that I want some for a while, but I've never seen them in my LFS. Today I went in to have a look at tanks, and there they were! 2 for £3.50! Happy days

Haha. Yes sorry lol. Yes definitely getting more. Getting a bigger tank though so waiting for that. It's the only time I've ever seen them near me so I couldn't leave them. They've got plenty of hidey holes.

I'm waiting for her reply lol! I know they should get more confidence when I get more of them, but they're swimming around my tank quite happily so far I think the girl in the LFS was trying to put me off getting them, she said 'Ive had two in my tank for 4 years and I never see them, only when I clean the tank and the the ornaments out. You'll probably never see these again.' I just smiled and nodded and told her I'd be getting some more in a couple of weeks. She said that won't make any difference and I'll still never see them, which I doubt after all the research I've done on them. What a way to make a sale eh?

I can't decide which species of khuli I have. The LFS didn't know there were any species other than striped, black or albino, so I'm trying to determine what they are. I think they're either pangio khuli or pangio semicincta, but can't decide which. Can anyone help?

Sorry about the horrendous picture quality, I took this on the iPad. Is it clear enough to tell the species?

Crossfire can tell. You might have to add kuhli to your subject, just to really grab her attention.

Sorry, I just got home. Should have seen this sooner! The loaches are precious! Any striped kuhli can have spots in their stripes IME, so if the loaches have 9-12 stripes, then you have Pangio semicincta, if not then Pangio kuhli. You can refer to it here
