guppy, mystery snail x2 maybe nerite snail, bamboo shrimp, fire shrimp, glass catfish (if i can find it), loaches(khuli and maybe hillstream), pleco(smaller one like some bristlenoses), madagascan rainbow fish.

SCRAPPED IDEAS: betta splendens, common pleco, cory cats, tetra, angelfish, chinese algae eater, discus (idk why i was so crazy at the time), gourami,


"MAYBE ILL ADD IT " ideas: african dwarf frogs, small crab, lobster(guess its no cuz itll eat my fry) , tadpole shrimp,

PLANTS: some wild floaters(yea i bleached them) (one of them is frogbit), some sorta hornwort, bananaplant, random stem plants, java moss, moss ball, some carpet plant thingy, dwarf hairgrass, pothos, monstera deliscosa, some sorta pothos i found, java fern(im failing at this pls help), anubias,

Frogs should not be kept in fish tanks. If the fish get sick, any medications used to treat them will normally kill the frogs. Frogs will also eat shrimp, snails and small fish.

Crayfish and crabs have no place in fish aquariums because they are nocturnal predators and eat the fish and plants at night.

Bamboo, Monstera and Pothos are not aquarium plants.

Lily pads usually shed the leaf and sink to the bottom where they develop a root system and send up stems to the surface where new leaves grow. Sometimes they survive this process and others they don't.

Anubias aren't the best aquarium plant and do better in pots growing outside under some shade cloth.

Hair grass is not a true aquatic plant and struggles when kept underwater.

Don't get hornwort unless it's summer and the weather is warm. If you take hornwort form a cold water pond (where it's grown at the suppliers) and put it in a tropical tank, it dies within a few days.

Some good plants to try include Ambulia, Hygrophila polysperma, H. ruba/ rubra, Elodia (during summer, but don't buy it in winter because it falls apart), Hydrilla, common Amazon sword plant, narrow or twisted/ spiral Vallis, Water Sprite (Ceratopteris thalictroides/ cornuta).
The Water Sprite normally floats on the surface but can also be planted in the substrate. The other plants should be planted in the gravel.

Ambulia, H. polysperma, Elodia/ Hydrilla and Vallis are tall plants that do well along the back. Rotala macranda is a medium/ tallish red plant that usually does well.

H. ruba/ rubra is a medium height plant that looks good on the sides of the tank.

Cryptocorynes are small/ medium plants that are taller than pygmy chain swords but shorter than H. rubra. They also come in a range of colours, mostly different shades of green, brown or purplish red.

Most Amazon sword plants can get pretty big and are usually kept in the middle of the tank as a show piece. There is an Ozelot sword plant that has brown spots on green leaves, and a red ruffle sword plant (name may vary depending on where you live) with deep red leaves.

There is a pygmy chain sword plant that is small and does well in the front of the tank.

ok ill wait until summer to put horn wort in. umm the hair grass floats normally, and the snubias is above the substrate. also i have kept pothois and monstara for a while now, and they are doing fine with their leaves above water. thats what i meant. also i had the common plant like rotala dont remember what it is. so my other plants are fine? ill try and get a pot for my anubiases. there are some swords at my other lfs tho...
what fertilizer do you reccomend?

my tank is going for a look with like a bunch of wood in the middle and heavily planted on one side and not much on the other side. what other floaters do u reccomend? i kinda wnat water lettuce or the common floater like the small thingy? also i might get some salvinia

Well my 40 g Bow had 6 loaches (2 dwarf chain, 4 unk loaches) 6 glass cats the two don't interact with each other, Glass cats are mid water fishes while loaches are bottom feeders so I haven't any problems. gotta remember we talk about glittering generalities. I've got a 30 tall with 3 cories and 10 loaches ( 8 kuhlii 2 yo-yos and all seems fine) All forums are full of glittering generalities, one need to take everything with a grain of salt and distill/interpret statements...and if one has a question one can use conversations or directly ask a questions.

I’m not that knowledgeable with glass catfish, or loaches, but I do know glass catfish are very skittish and they don’t like a lot of light.
