right i am not sure if you will remember or not but a little while ago i inherited a 10 year old goldfish that had some problems well they have all cleared up now but today he is swimming upside down
he does seem to be able to right himself fairly easily when you go near the tank and as soon as you walk away he goes straight back upside down again
i have put some swim bladder treatment in and a little salt but his still doing it
he seems to like it i know that seems a strange thing to say but it really feels like his just mucking around he is a little monkey
but im a little worried i dont want to wake up in the morning and his gone eternal night nights

any thoughts?

he is the only one in the tank

thanks

anyone please

Other than treatment I think only de shelled boiled peas all mushed up will help clear his bowls and help towards it.

thanks for reply

he seems to be nnormal today and i can see an extra long toilet so im thinking thats what the problem was im going to get him some peas any way

phew thank goodness for that

possibly swim bladder disorder?

Hi what are the water stats and what are you feeding?

floating dried foods are notorious for causing these problems which make the fish become bloated,
If you can, switch to a sinking dried food and make a note of feeding Daphnia and deshelled peas 1-2 times per week to help keep the goldfish's digestive system flowing

definatly get the sinking pellets for him my goldfish used to get this a lot until i switched to sinking pellets
live / freeze dried or frozen daphina is excellent for goldies

cut all your feeding down to once every other day
after i changed mine to sinking pellets with the daphnia and the feeding to once every other day i had no more weird swimming problems

saying that though there is a fish in a pub near me that has swam upside down for years and is happy and healthy

she is a large goldfish aswell http://www.whatsonsouthwest.co.uk/article.php?id=12759

thanks for advice guys

he eats pellets and daphina my nan (who had him before) could never get him to eat flakes so its pellets all the way she used to feed him 4 times a day

but his down to one a day im trying to get him on every two days like my other fish i found it helps out with the water clarity

i will post stats in the morning

lmao at the other goldie believe it or not my man is even bigger than that one his a monster lol

he has just demolished two yummy peas bless him
