It's Pedro!

tis great that you can get the live food delivered to your door :) ,

What is the general life span for a Phelsuma madagascariensis grandis?

They can live for quite a long time. Some care sheets will say 15 years, but it is likely that they can live for longer given ideal conditions. For example, most care sheets will say that leopard geckos live for about 15-20 years, but there are lots of records of leopard geckos reaching 30 and beyond!

Edit: Actually I just remembered this website! It's a big list of recorded lifespans of various species of gecko... http://www.pondturtle.com/llizb.html

Indeed. Obviously in the wild they would live for a shorter time due to natural predation and/or disease.

The bad news is, he reminds me of the Geico lizard. But don't worry, I've got great news.

I just saved a bunch of money of my car insurance.

Lol sorry. :p

I think he's beautiful, and the good news is when you get him a bigger viv, you will have a spare viv for something else :D are they solitary or can you have a few?

Haha... I'm afraid he doesn't do the robot (even though I'm in the UK I've still seen the Geico thing on the net :p )!

Edit: Sorry... we posted at the same time there!
Yes, I will be putting his little viv in storage for 'later use'! I have no space to put it once I get his bigger tank, but one day when I move out or something I can put some amazon milk frogs or some different arboreal geckos in it. Oooh... or pygmy chameleons. Heh - must stop thinking! All in good time :*)
As with most geckos you can't keep two males together unless it's in like a huge walk-in enclosure where they can have their own territories etc., but even then it's not necesarily advisable.
You can keep breeding pairs of male and female, but from what I can gather I don't believe you can keep more than one female in with the male as even the females are very territorial and will fight quite aggressively with one another. There are species of day gecko that you can keep in small groups (such as Phelsuma klemmeri) of females or one male to several females, but Phelsuma m. grandis isn't one of them.

*BUMP*
Here's a couple more piccies of wee Pedro stuck to the front pane of his tank...

I love the second picture, because he looks really chubby! The calcium sacs on either side of his neck aren't usually that pronounced, but he was tilting his head to look at me so they got all squished he looks as though he has a double chin

Edit: Spot the calcium-dusted locust on the back wall of his tank in the last two pictures
