I respect people who dont want aquariums but not people who put animals in danger!!! Please tell me your parents did something about that...
No. It appears he got a kick out of my trying to feed dead fish or something like that. He told me well after the fact why the fishes didn't want to eat in the morning.

Monkey see, Monkey do? (imitation is the sincerest form of flattery) :)
monke is cool
monke is life!
OMG you're facing the family strain of MTS
Like for the normal strain there is no therapy or cure

Think there should be a good familydiscussion about sacrificing one of the rooms to make it a fishroom. Only that can solve some of worst symptoms a bit.

Succes
the 2 plagues of MTS(pretty much infurable)
mts snail and MTS syndrome!

I have 5 aquariums

Only wanted one, a nice 300 litre one...an all singing and all dancing flashy one...

But anything over 100 litres is a "curb delivery only" and that's simply not an option where I live, so ended up with 5 smallish under 100 litre ones instead. Far from the "dream" but better than nothing at all.

well, you could make a makeshift breeder pond or goldfish or something!!
get a storage container of 40 usg, 160l i think
iu
like these
and you can give the fish a ride around the house... if you want

Not worth it. I have 2 patio ponds which are great and all, but they are not as fun to watch. I prefer a patio tank. You can actually see the ecosystem going. This fish picks bits out of the sand, and the plants filter the water. It’s awesome.

Two of mine are giving me loads of hassle currently...I have 4 hexagonal and a standard rectangle/long...2 of the hexagonals are driving me up the wall with issues, seriously considering giving up on them tbh

Maybe time to give up on the pastime altogether....the heart is not always into it, especially when things are not going right.

Keeping aquariums is financially and emotionally draining at times.....its certainly not the easy pastime that newbies are told that it is by irresponsible LFS staff

Mine (not to flex) are all over 100l. My largest being 340l, and my smallest being 110l.
rare fish are big fish, right?

Oh no 😢 I’m sorry it’s not going so well x What are the issues? Can anyone help with ‘fixes’..?

Just on a bit of a downer curve ball....the bane of hexagonal (and other multiple cornered aquariums) diatom invasion on two of them, nothing serious, just flamin' annoying (and my UV's have gone on strike which would normally deal with such irritations as this). They will clear eventually....daily water changes, window cleaning, substrate cleaning.....just a pain in the butt

Life in general is not exactly rosy at the moment, so two misbehaving aquariums are minor annoyances but have arrived at the wrong time

Thank you for asking...

Not at all there are MANY extremely rare fishes under 4 inches.... why just the other day 2 new gourami were discovered in a remote location that are extremely rare and absolutely stunning - alas i doubt anyone will be owning these very soon and if they did it would take an extremely experienced fish keeper to keep them alive and healthy.

I’ve always fancied a tall hexagonal tank with ‘will have one day’ seahorses 😍
