the tank is a petworx 30cm cube, with a dymax RGB LED and a paintball C02 system: the tank used to have an inbuilt back filter.

I originally started my cube as a shrimp tank which had a massive BGA outbreak which caused all the shrimp to die and everything to pretty much die off.

prior to shrimp die off, IMG20211103121623.jpgIMG20211115153033.jpg

the massive BGA outbreak caused from bacter AE powder.
I then did a complete blackout that killed the BGA aswell as made the plantes very leggy, and unhealthy, I took the tank down and let it sit for awhile.

the tank sat empty for a few months until august of 2022.
when I cut out the back filter, changed the lighting to a DIY floodlight, bought a new TNA co2 diffuser and set up a new aquascape. I did waterchanges every day for the first week of setup.

Day 5 added a fish:

I will post the rest tomorrow

thanks for reading.

Nice! Do you have a drop checker to monitor the CO2? Looking forward to the updates!
no drop checker, bubble counter only, my water is at 6.4ph anyway so the drop checker doesnt work.

it took about 3 weeks for the plants to start to grow in.
PLANT LIST:
carpet 1: Lilaeopsis Brasiliensis
carpet 2: dwarf sagittaria
stem 1: rotala colorata
stem 2: hygrophila polysperma
other plants 1: nana petite
other plants 2: java fern windelov

I also added 4 ottos to keep algae under control.

in October the tank was fully grown in with wonderful plant colours, this was the peek point of the tank, all the plants are looking there best and all the fish where doing well.

everything was going well in my tank until a water change mishap which ended up killing my betta fish when he got caught in the water change pipe.

everything started to go wrong from this point.
