My boyfriend and I took a little trip to Wal-Mart last night at like 11:00 pm, and I asked to look in the fish section. All the tank lights were already turned off, so all I could really look at were the bettas. There were only about half the amount of cups there, so I figured I got slim pickens...but lo and behold I was wrong! I found a beautiful little boy just waiting to be taken home. :) He's got a purplish/red body with a white face. His fins are opaque white with a perfect strip of light blue along the edges, and a small hint of pink in places. And along the tops and bottoms of most of his fins there are thin electric blue colored lines running down them. We've named him Cyrus. :D This is the second beautiful betta I've found at Wal-Mart, the first being Kakashi.

I can't show you any pictures yet though, as our camera is currently out on loan. But as soon as it's back, it's picture time. ;) I was just excited about him and wanted to let you guys know. :D

Thanks! ;) I can't wait to take pictures of him...he's quite the little showboater, always flaring at something. He also likes to play in the rougher water where the filter is. :p He's a nut. :fun:

he sounds cute!!! i was thinkin about gettin mine at walmart, but when i stopped by our LFS i found my stewart and fell in love  good luck with your new little fishy, cant wait for some :kewlpics:

His color is looking much better today too. ;)
It's amazing what clean water and lots more room will do to their color isn't it? I myself found a beautiful one at wallmart yesterday. He has a pinkish body, with fins starting off as blue at the base and working their way to red. The blue has white streaks in it, so I call him glory, for "old glory" cause he has the red, white, and blue. Patriotic huh?

Congrats on the new betta.

BTW love your frog's name. Is it from South Park? (Artemus Klog Frog)

Cool! Are you going to post pictures of him AlexsDaddy? He sounds really pretty.

And yes, it is amazing what a bit of room and clean water does for them...mine is currently making a bubble nest and flaring like nutso. He's quite the happy little guy. ;)

lol! Yeah it is! That episode was just too good! ;) I also have a plushie frog who I named Artemis as well...I'm obsessed. :p

Thanks! I hope I can take good enough care of them both so they will live long happy lives. Glory has been blowing lots of bubbles ever since I moved him to his new home, so I guess he's pretty happy. He's not eating though. Hasn't eaten anything since I brought him home. His color is good, and I don't see any spots or sores, so he is probably still adjusting. I read on other threads that they will eventually eat, but I am still worried. Maybe I'll go get the kind they were feeding them at wallmart. Maybe he'll eat then.
