It's a sad morning for me today........

Dont give up for christs sake, fish die all the time, they're not in their natural environment - they're bound to have a shorter life span. Get a couple more.
That was insensitive and totally uncalled-for.

Silver I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope your new fishes do better and occupy your thoughts. You obviously did all you could to help them, don't blame yourself, it wasn't your fault.

Insensitive it was not, i was merely stating that the death of domesticated fish is a common occurence as they are not in their natural habitat, i also thought getting some more would help silver to overcome her loss. There was nothing insensitive about my post.

Well I was offended by it, and it seems Silver was too. I don't like the offhand way you seem to think these two fish that obviously meant a great deal to Silver can just be replaced without greiving for the others.

Perhaps if you had explained your point better in the first place and posted with a little more tact it wouldn't have seemed so nasty.

If i was you i wouldn't indulge in so much trouble on my first day of joining the forums. My post was not intended to cause offense so you're mistaken if you think it was. When a fish dies i think you'll find its quite usual to replace it, i dont recall mentioning that she should not grieve and i dont believe that any more explaination was needed.

Exscuse my double post. I think this argument has taken over enough of the thread now i will end it and apologise to silver for any offense caused, you are a far more experienced member than i and i respect you for that, my scincere apologies.

R3GG - you're post did come across probably a bit different to what you meant it to, it did sound kinda like you didn't care & that you thought Silvershouldn't be upset about it coz they're "just fish". If you didn't mean it like that fair enough, but please try to put you're points across more tactfully & with more consideration for people's feelings. When we're not face-to-face with people it's always hard to tell how they mean things they say, & it's easy for people to "get the wrong end of the stick."

Silver - I'm so sorry for you're loss, they sound like they were great fishies. I do hope you don't give up on SDs though (or change you're name!), I think SDs everywhere would love to have an owner who cares about their fishies as much as you do. Good luck with the newbies & I really am sorry once again.

Hi silver.

I'm so sorry to learn about your loss. :byebye:

A sudden death is bad enough, but when you nurse the little guys and hope for the best, to lose them like that is even worse.

The only good thing is that you have a responsible lfs and some new fish to care for. I wish you the best of luck with them.

No probs Queengumby, i think you're right it's easy to get the wrong end of the stick, there's nothing like talking person to person. Nice to see a mature member like so many others on the forums. ;)

lol..silver wants everyone to respect her dead fish.

sorry for your loss silver.

Sil! im so sorry! :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :rip: we all know that you are so not going to give up! and....by the way R3GG they born in this enviroment......... so .... i believe that a shorter life would be live them in the real natural enviroment....as they born in a fake natural one......... did someone get me?

Silver,
Sound like you have run into so hard times this week. I hope thing work out better for you.
What kind of rainbows did you get?
I had some neon rainbows for a while until I got my discus. They were neat fish. I might get some again since I just finished my 29 gallon tank stand.

Hi Dolores, i know the fish were born in that environment but i wouldnt say it's their natural environment, that would be the Amazon which they would surely (as a species) be more suited to :)
cheers!
