:( :)
Today I took my beautiful frontosa up to my lfs to trade them in for store credit :( It was really hard to do and I nearly had an anxiety attack as I took on the task of filling buckets. I had to stop and think for a couple hours and make sure this is what I really want to do. It was pretty tough but in all honesty, they didn't seem to even care. They settled in to the lfs tank really quickly -_-
Here's a photo I took just a few days ago...

waaah! And to top it off,I'm sitting on a stool by the chick who works at my lfs as she acclimates them saying how beautiful they are and how tough it is etc, wondering aloud if this is the right move and she says...."*deep sigh* well, personally I love my pets..."

Ouch!
I still have that syno because Tuesday wanted to keep him, but I'll take him up tomorrow as I have nowhere he can go comfortably. He is adorable and friendly, but ya know. I might as well do it all in one punch.

Anyhoo, the good news is I got a couple hundred bucks in store credit for live rock for my future marine tank :hyper: I should be setting it up this week so I'll keep this post updated!

Your frontosas are beautiful and I can certainly understand how hard it must have been to give them up! I've had the unfortunate experience of taking fish back to the store too. But starting up a salt tank will take your mind off of them soon enough!
Good luck with your tank! :D

Thanks guys, they are very nice  I woke up this morning ,flipped on my living room light and my stomach sank when I saw the empty tank :/ I'm gonna miss those guys. I'd better get some live rock in that tank quick!

Ginge, I can't even believe it happened so quickly but it all started when I set up a sump for their tank, then I was like "Hey, I'm really close to a marine tank now-might as well go for it", plus I never get to buy new fish, I can't even tell you how long it's been since I came home gripping a bag with something new. I guess I miss that a bit? with a marine tank I'll have the option to pick up something now and then without having to set up a tank for it.

And, I was goping to have to get rid of 4 of them anyway since they were a different kind, that would have cut my population in half,so..

yaaay marine! I'm going to buy my lights today

sad that you had to take them back Wuv, they were great looking fish

Good luck on the marine tank though!
did i hear someone say Marine Betta? :shifty:

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My lfs has several in and they're adorable! They get quite large :hyper:
I'm sad about the fronts, too. But I went to my lfs today and the owner was in so I dragged him over to show the fronts to him. He wants to put them in the 500+ gallon Tang display tank, so I'll still get to see them and maybe even see them spawn

I'm so, so excited about the marine tank. I almost settled for compact lighting but I'm gonna get VHO so I can have awesome stuff :hyper: It'll be an ongoing work in progress which is cool. I don't mind if it takes me years to get it just right, it'll be fun. I'm nervous, too though. Gah! It's exciting

that's awesome news about the fronts, in a 500+ tank im sure they'll live a long, full life

so i take it you're going to go reef?
can't wait to see it! :hyper:

Reef,baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..........!

The fronts are happy as clams (oOOh,I'm sooo getting a clam!). I was absolutely amazed at how well they handled the trip over there and everything...they weren't even phased :S

So I tore down the old tank, cleaned it up and I'm going to (maybe) paint the back tonight. I bought a shimmery gray/black spraypaint...but they had this really awesome green paint I wanted but it was $$, it would cost me like 70 bucks buuut I'll have it forever. Hmm, what to do?

Yikes, that must have been tough!! :/

...However.... mmmm, reef!

It's worth the sacrifice, and the fronts wound up in a bigger tank anyway. Aaaaand someday I'd like fronts again, but this time Zaire Blues

So sad. I love frontosas. But I do have a question. In the picture, sucking on the side of the tank, is that a Borneo Sucker Loach (Gastromyzon borneensis)?
