Is your pet worth the vet bill?

Well i took one of budgies to the vet when we came in and found blood on her face. thankfully she was okay she had been suffering from scaly face and had cut herself scratching, my then boyfriend thought i was nuts taking her since budgies don't cost much but the vet only cost me £12 and i felt better for doing it and thankfully she was fine!! but if it was going to cost me hundreds of pounds then i would have to carefully consider the situation since i don't have much spare cash?

I think anyone who takes on the responsability for an animal has to do everything they possibly can to look after it. It's part of the deal. Anyone who doesn't, or think money is more important should not be allowed to keep animals.

Its not a case really of whther money is more important then your pet. What if the choice was between your family's food for the month or your hamster's vet bill?

Id probably pay a large sum for my dog but if one of my guinea pigs or my birds had a serious problem which couldnt be cured and wouldn't get better I would probably euthanise them rather than pay to prolong a life which would keep getting worse. Touch wood it will never happen.
