Hi.

As you all know i have got a new tank. Well i started it going by adding 4 platys and leaving it for 2 weeks. The i added 1 more platy. left it for 1 week. Then i added all my fish and squeezed my old filter into my new one. Well i have had 2 fish die on me in the last half week. could this be new tank syndrome?

Can you do some tests on the water, tell us the results for Ammonia, Nitrite, and Nitrate?

This will help others here diagnose the problem.

I will be having it tested later. Sorry for the delay i have no test kits yet (just spent my money on a dart board) <-- this is selfish of me

Yes take a sample of your water to the lfs and tell them to write the readings down for you.

You will have to invest in a nitrite,and nitrate test kit if you can.

Read the link in my sig. You added fish too fast. You should have waited 6 weeks after the first 4.

Thanks alot. I will start a new topic when i get the water tested. It will no doubt be after xmas now as i have no money untill then.
