Is This What I Think It Is!......

Hi all,

So I was feeding my fish today and niticed this stuff around the tank edge. Some in little bits and some in bigger bits.... is this a sign that the seal is going??

Hard to tell from that picture, is it at the front of the tank? It might be water thats dripped down and gathered in the plastic liner accross the bottom of the tank? Looks like calcification or something like that.

its on the front and sides... but not on the back.....

I thought this too when I saw the pic. how old is your tank? could you possibly get a clearer pic?

Sorry If i am being a blonde but are you thinking that the stuff is coming formt he inside of the tank??? (If so wouldn't the water be leaking providin gthat the tank would give?) if thats is what you are saying....

inside or outside of the tank. I suppose if it is on the inside you will have to take the fish and water out and seal it. You can buy sealent.

this may be way off, but could it be lime scale? from the light fixing?

Its on the outside of the tank around the edges.... No Dorito's.... im guessing its just where the water has spilled down the side and got cought in the plastic liner... as nobody here as seen this and some of you have had seal go on you....

I get gunk like that building up around the edges of one of my tanks. Water drips down in one area, and just spreads along the liner. After this happening for a while you'll get calcification as you do around light fixtures etc.
