Is This Too Much?

I know over here in n ireland we pay £35 each for a smaller size of heros severus (mouth brooder) they'll not get much bigger than 7-8 inch. Sounds as if you missed a bargain as long as they were true mouth brooders.

Everyone but me seems to have issues with their Jewels (touch wood). Maybe its because I raised mine with my other fish from a very early age.

I know what you mean. You could go with one JD and one Sev? You will get a little more variety then and no chance of any problems from a potential breeding pair.

My jewel is young but very aggressive.
I think I might go with the JD and Sev as I really want the sev, another fish I wanted was a GT but I think it would cause to much aggression issues so im putting that aside.

So future stock -
5x2x2

1 Tiger Oscar
1 F1 Mouth Brooding Green Spotted Severum
1 Jack Dempsey
15 Arulius Barbs
1 Jewel?
1 Senegal
Common Pleco
2 Other Catfish????

I would ditch the 2 other catfish in a tank that size as you already have two large bottom dwellers. I would also be ready to rehome the jewel and looks like you are onto a winner. That is if your Oscar allows it lol.

Alright Ill cut out the catfish, I dont really want to rehome the jewel, Lol ill keep an eye it, if things get ugly then shes out.
She seems to have calmed down a bit

^ That ain't the actual picture of the fish but its look exactly the same and is suppose to be rare.
The one i'm getting is adult at 10 inches.

I used to like that variety, but prefer the more neutral colours now. I would be a little cautious as it will be pretty much fully grown and it might be hard to accept your fish and vice versa. What are its current tank mates and what size is their tank?

Right now its just in with other sevs and my mate has them in a 180g.

Hmm your call but sometimes it is better to buy cichlids around the same size so that they grow together and get used to each other. On the other hand, it may be fine.
