So Sky042 tells me they eat snails.............

Any loach owners that can back up these claims??? :p

JK :p ;)

Just wanted to hear of anyones experiences and what kind of loaches they were.....

I'm talking about those stupid little snails that start out teenie tiny and then get to about the size of a pencil eraser.....sometimes bigger, but none of mine are except a few....

Don't know what they're called but they are a BIG FAT PAIN IN MY ***!!!!

Some of the larger Botias like Clowns, Yo yos and Polka-dot Loaches will readily eat snails. The smaller soft shelled youung snails are simply eaten and the adults with harder shells are simply sucked out of their shell and devoured. :)

Ryans spot on there. The snails in my tank were wiped out in about 2 days. I just moved one clown loach into another tank to get rid of snails and he's cleaned that out in about 2 days.

If you've got the snails that that have pointy shells they may be harder to get rid of. I'm not sure if loaches eat those.

I know, you can just put 'em in a bag and ship 'em to me. I was looking to get a few anyway :p

 Parker, I would, but that's what I'm trying to avoid.....PICKING EACH ONE out!!! Urg......I'm getting SOOOO irritated.....

Maybe I will look for a few yo-yo loaches......... :shifty: :hey:

Oh, and RYAN, if I got one yo-yo and one polka dot will they kind of school together.....or do I need to get a certain amount?? Don't want them to be unhappy

>>> I got one yo-yo and one polka dot will they kind of school together

You would be better off with 3 of the same kind of Botia.

Well......

I am happy to say that my husband let me (LET ME - YA RIGHT) get 2 itty bitty baby clown loaches yesterday for an early Bday present.......... * squeals with delight at the mere thought of clown loaches in this house *

I put all my reservations about them aside and WENT FOR IT!!!

I am going to get that 135 gallon tank someday ...... maybe sooner than I think :*) so it will all work out!!

And only 10 minutes after being in the tank the little guys were trying to eat the snails........YAY...

YIPPEE

Of course, I will get a couple more down the road!!! :p

Silver, you got clown loaches!?!?! :hyper: :hyper: WOW!

I hope to see some pics soon. :shifty: Or else... :sly:

I'm so happy for you! :hyper:

I want to go out and buy a big tank for some now :shifty: :p

Will we get to see some pictures once they've settled in?

They are THE most adorable little guys ever!! They were an early b-day present from the hubby  They are just so darn cute!!!!!!

I'm in love!!!!

They keep following my albino corycats around  They are no bigger than 1 - 1.5 inches!!!!!

GOSH they're cute........okay, I'm done now!!!! :*) It's just that I have waited so long, and now have bitten the bullet dead on!!!!!!!!!!

My clown loaches (group of four) and easily eat over 300 snails over night, I'm not bluffing, it's true.
