Hello

theres a juwel powerhead 1000 on here for sale and wanted to know would this be sufficient for a 4ft tank in terms of turnover. i reckon with displacement the tank holds 200 litres

i will eventually be going down the route of live rock marine tank but am planning for the future.

thanks

you should aim for 20X turnover if you ever want a reef. so not enough.

hello

im not going for reef just live rock and fish only. although i will be having one of these at each end.

would that be enough if i have one at each end.

12-15 times should be enough fro FOWLR. But make sure that crap doesnt settle under rocks etc and there is a good ammount of flow between the rocks.

you will one day want corals of some sort though ;) marines is wayyy addictive

I will echo what Ben said, once there is rock in your tank and you look at the corals and display tanks in the LFS, you will want them.

It is extremely addictive, I have never upgraded a tank so quickly as my reef tank.

cool...

ive upgraded soo many times as i get bored easily. but the marines is something ive always wanted to get into and dont think there is anything better for me to upgrade too..

i definately do love the look of corals so will no doubt eventually go down the coral route.. will just wait untill the money comes in and will see what i can do.

thanks for the info.

thats one thing ive worried about with previous tanks. the crap settling inbetween rocks. how do you guys combat that or do you move stuff around to clean up.
