Is this really Betta imbellis?

I heard that imbellis is peaceful betta.
How about splendens?
Is wild splendens as peaceful as imbellis?
The betta I bought was sold in a tank with about 10 individuals(male and female) and no one were injured.
If the betta I bought were splendens, is this possible?

they are like 130+ usd for a pair
is that overpriced, because i see them online for like 30-40 usd each

Wild splendens are much peaceful than domestics, but males can fight with other males.

i have some gouramis so i dont think i could add bettas
75g with lots of floaters
i think they maybe can have some hiding there

I think in a 75g a pair or group of them would work fine. The problem with mine was that there wasn't really anywhere for her to escape.

I wanted to make a peaceful and small and beautiful betta strain crossing imbellis and ailien betta line.
Maybe wild splendens would do.

Both your Betta Imbellis are female with only black/brown colour.

You should get the male Imbellis as they are colourful and nicer.
Male Imbellis will have two colours - either Blue & Red or Green & Red if my observation is correct.

If you want to breed them, you can check youtube videos on how to breed them.

If you want to put the male and female together, make sure your tank is big enough(probably 60x30cm or 60x40cm size) with many hiding places(plants, caves).

But when the female has laid eggs, you will have to remove the female as the male will attack the female if it sees the female.
The male is afraid that the female will eat the eggs and it will drive the female away.

He is aggressive towards mirror in front of him.
So, I came to conclusion that this fish is not imbellis.
But I'll try to cross with alien betta.
The alien female is much larger than this "splendens" male(maybe twice as large).
Have you ever tried to cross bigger female and smaller male?
Is this possible?

Alien Betta is about the same size as Imbellis.
But some other wild Betta species can be smaller or bigger.

If they can pair up, probably they can breed but I've never tried it before.
But if the female is more aggressive, probably it may not work.
If I'm not wrong, Alien is a hybrid which is more aggressive than the wild Bettas.

Alien may come in 4 colours:

Betta splendens are aggressive in the wild and in captivity.
Betta imbellis are peaceful, although some males can have a biffo sometimes but they don't normally kill each other like B. splendens do.

If the shop had 10 Betta fish in the same tank, and there were males and females, and they didn't fight, they are B. imbellis.

A long time ago they crossed B. splendens with B. imbellis to get more colour.

Do not cross/ hybridise different Betta species. They need to be kept as pure species because many are endangered in the wild and if people mix then up in captivity, we could lose the species completely.

After keeping in blackwater for a week they became like below.
2 above are the same male, and one below is female.
And the male began to make bubble nest.
And he also attacks female and guppy in the same tank sometimes.
Do you still think they are imbellis?
I am leaning toward splendens.
Look at their gill red bar and non metallic body color.
