Is This Plec To Big For My Tank

Hi All,

I have inherited a 180 litre tank and it comes with this plec, would you say the plec needs to move to a bigger tank? if so do lfs take these?

I would say that was certainly over the borderline now, and even keep it with nothing else in the tank would not be good either.
 
That looks like a common, they should have a 6+*2*2 ft aquarium. Every LFS is different, you need to ask yours.
 
Doesn't look like a common to me, might just be the pic, but it looks silver, commons are brown/black sort of colour
 
Trust me, those pictures are good enough to place it in the 'common' bracket

If you want to get technical I believe the lack of a vermiculated belly pattern identifies it as Pterygoplichthys pardalis.
 
That is a common plec as said above.

Really should be housed in a bigger tank 400 litres plus.
 
Plec now rehoused to a 500 litre Tank. The guy i gave it to didn't think it was a common. i'm not sure
