Hey everyone :)

Ok, so on the weekend I changed the (fake) plant in my betta's tank. Ever since then he's barely eaten anything at all.. which is incredibly unusual for my little piggy.

Is this normal? Could he be mad at me cuz i disrupted his pretty home? I threw the old plant away so can't put it back..any suggestions?

thanks!

That could be, but did you wash the plant first? Sometimes there are things on plastic (if it is plastic) that aren't very good for the water.

I'm not very experienced with this but I figured I'd give my opinion, might help.

If you washed it off, he may not like it! Chance likes some plants better than others - I actually bought a new style for him (silk) when I "upgraded" his tank, and he acted kind of like how it sounds your guy is. I bought a larger plant just like his old plastic one, and he was back to normal again. Fish are strange

Possibly his change in behavior could be because of the change in scenery? He just may not have been used to having it in there and it seemed like a strange place to him so he wasn't comfortable.

Thanks guys. He seems to have settled in a bit more and is eating again :)

Think he just had to find a new favourite resting place.

That was wierd in my 2.5g I can switch the decor in it at anytime and they don't seem bothered at all.
