Is this normal for bettas?

Yesterday, i purchased a female betta. but when i got it, it searched the top of the tank for a while, i thought nothing was wrong. but when i checked on it, she was just in the leaves of the plants, sorta laying and swimming at the same time, i'm not sure if she was even touching the plants. but my question is, is that normal? cause if it's not, i'm gonna talk to my lfs, cause all of the female bettas were doing that.

All betas do that in the wild but mostly if they had a ditch they would preferably lay there instead of laying in the leaves of plants and such. Bettas just sit in a ditch in the wild and either wait for prey or a mate to come along and so on....
