Hmmm....not sure this is Ich. Other fish seem completely unaffected and the 'spots' on the fins are larger than Ich and a bit 'fluffy' (photo describes it better than I can). The main issue with the Sev is a protuding white 'lump' on one fin that looks sore also.

I've looked up other diseases and can not find anything that matches.

He is only affected on the fins - I can not see any similar signs across his body.

have you looked up the other things that Double Dutch suggested? I'd not heard of any of them

Is he still curling his fins and showing signs of irritation?

I looked them all up - couldn't see an obvious match with any of the available photos.

He's still irritated. Maybe if it is something similar to Ich I just need to wait for the meds to take effect and for the fins to heal.

I'd complete the course, do a larger than normal water change and give him a couple of days and see what develops. Early days I guess. I've just been googling myself to see if I could find anything. Only thing that seemed quite extensive was by badman'stropical

If this treatment doesn't work I'd be looking for a broad spectrum treatment that'll cover as many bases as possible. Hope you can cure him Zoddy ... he's a stunning fish :)

thanks. He's the largest fish I've ever owned....and also a coward (hates a water change!)

seems move active today - has spent the past 3 or 4 moping in his hiding spot, so here's hoping....

fingers crossed Zoddy ... keep us posted :)

appears to be on the mend. Majority of the white 'bits' have reduce or vanished and the the most noticeable one has greatly reduced in size and no longer looks red/sore. He is also much more active.

Will reduce the temp to the normal 26c and put activated carbon in the filter to remove the meds tomorrow in conjunction with a 75% water change.

great news Zoddy ... happy to hear he's on the mend :)
