It is hard with fish like severum but there are some plants that they don’t go for. Have you thought about some chemical filtration in your filter? You can get resins that soak up nitrates which could be good in here as it’s not like it’s in your tap water which is where it usually comes from.

I think the larger sev is destroying them out of frustration iv never saw a fish take up the role of (under boss ) second in command kind of thing it avoids my eba and rules where ever there not , I reshuffled my remaining swords last week as my eba had another lot of fry and she was being very very aggressive and she hits hard like a 5invh blue torpedo but my sev literally nipped them down to roots didn’t eat them just didn’t want them in it’s way , can you recommend any Chem filter media that would help I only use sponges and ceramics and a small amount of carbon

Severum cichlids need plant matter in their diet. At least half their diet should be plant based, which is why they eat plants in aquariums. it's good for them.

They often get peas , I always give them peas before there protein , I swap there protein source monthly they have fresh raw salmon that I freeze or prawns what else other than peas should I be trying to feed them I mainly use peas because I know the corys will polish up the left overs
