Thats a lot of algae eSUng15.... have you got fish in there? I am surprised you've let it get that bad.

Ben

I think your tank looks great eSUng15. The algae adds to the 'fantasy' adventure feel of the Orient to your tank.

I actually have a tank that I want lots of algae in, and I'm succeeding :)
I have a krib pair in there, and I've found that the fry love to eat the algae, and they are growing at an incredible rate... They don't seem to do anything but eat that stuff...

hey kribsinvcrib...thanks for the fee back man/girl ;) ..thats what my dad said. It looks like Titanic at the bottom of the ocean..haha. Well once I get that cleaned up, I hope to try and keep it clean. Matter of fact I might buy some ghost shrimp so it can eat left over food ya know? I'm thinking of taking the pagoda and the sunken ship out and add a little bit better them. I might put columns in there with white sand and maybe blue light. Hopefully some live plants would do the trick. Have like a "Atlantis" theme 8) . Pluse I'm changing the backround because it's been the same for ages. BUT the only problem is that im leaving tomorow for Hawaii and now I have to get it cleaned tOday and put the fish in tomorow morning because I have to be up by 5 and mah plane leaves at 6. All I'm afraid of is some of my family "smart" memebers who are going to watch for my fish. They don't know nothing about taking care of my fish. I'm kinda worried :( what they might add to my tank or do to it. So hope for the best of luck.haha.

green algea is good.. red algea is bad... i have lots of algea on some of my tanks.. its not a bad thing.. just doesnt look great sometimes

What about brown?! I got lots of brown algae in one of my tanks, but only on the gravel line... all others have green.

I personally don't mind algae in my tanks. All three of my tanks have green algae covering the back walls, rocks, ornaments, and plants.
I prefer a more "natural" look to my tanks. I have enough fish and snails to keep the algae under control.
I did have a major outbreak of some kind of brown algea a while back in my 10 gallon tank. It occured when I removed the plants from the tank and transplanted them to my 20 gallon. I don't know why it happened. I eventually had to totally start the tank over from scratch after throwing away the substrate and bleaching the tank and filters.
