I have tried a few searches to find out what the following actually is - It is being sold at my LFS as the following - Volcano Multicolor Goby (Mogurnda sp) it is 6 inches long & priced at £10.99

Is it a PSG ? :/

Did it look something like this ?

It does look a bit like that yes.

I do have a 3 inch Northern Spotted Gudgeon & it does look similar (But this Volcano Goby is very much the same shape as our freshwater Zander)

I can't think of any zander shaped gobys but this is another fairly commonly imported species that might get mistaken for a Morgurnda species

Yep - You could say it looks abit like that too. What is that a picture of?

I will try getting a picture & post it for you to see.

The fish in the picture above is Dorminator maculatus.

Is that one of your M. adspersa in your earlier post CFC? It looks like a different species to me, might just be the lighting :S

Look up Jade gobies AM, I frequently see those by me (Although I am in the us) and they look a lot like mogurndas too :) CFC's second picture may be a Jade goby, I've forgotten what they look like because I haven't been to a major petshop in months :/

Yeah thats one of my M.adspersa, a second generation home bred male. I think they do call D.maculatus Jade goby in the US, here in the UK they call them Fat sleaper gobies.

Absolute rubbish i'm afraid, about 10 inches is top size for D.maculatus.

Hi CFC - How do I post my pic's ?

I don't seem to have the browse option when I attempt reply.

I am a little steady when it comes to computers btw.

Either upload it to a picture hosting site like photobucket and link it to here using the IMG tags (little icon above the posting window with a picture of a tree on it) or post it in members pics and do the same or provide a link to the post URL

I think those fish are the Ugliest Beauties i have ever seen, What do you need to house a few of those bad boys?

Well i dont think its a Morgurnda species, by its streamlined shape and flat pointed head i would say it is almost certainly one of the Eleotris species or possibly one of the Ophieleotris species. Keep an eye on its growth, some of these fish can grow quite big and are formidable predators quite capable of taking fish over half their own size.
