Is There Something Wrong With My Plec?

The ph of your tanks should be the same, as the water came from the same supply and you took 50% from the one to use in the other, but a test would hurt.
I would recheck your Nitrate Levels though and make sure Nitrite is <0ppm.
Once you have moved your BN, daily water changes and pea will help alot.

Glad to have been able to help, i hope you BN recovers

Just retested the nitrate, I hadn't shaken the third reagent last time, so this time I got a correct reading. I also retested the nitrite and I got less this time. It looked clear but when compared with clear water you could notice a very slight pinkish colour. I'm going to do alot more water changes this week and daily ones for the pleco in his own tank. Still hasn't heated up enough yet, I have boiled, de-shelled peas ready also. Thank you again. :)

No not cucumber has no nutition do courgette/ zucinni much better

I had this with a Plec and cucumber worked.
You are more interested in the Plec passing the blockage than the nutritional value at this stage.

Courgette is better going forward.

He hadn't eaten any of the peas, (from what I could tell) so i'm going to try cucumber, next time I will buy courgette but i'll try this for now, thanks for the suggestions.

I found this post here: http://www.planetcatfish.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=24558, the plec's problem looks pretty similar but not as bad as my BN's. At the end of the post the guy says he treated with waterlife myxazin and the pleco recovered so I have bought some today and treated the 35 litre he's currently in on his own. He's alot less lively.. :-( Wish i'd spotted the problem sooner..

sorry - some more updates..

I forgot to mention, since this morning, he's developed whitish lumps on both sides of his belly. I'm not totally sure, but I think his belly may look a little flatter, it's definitly just as wide..

The white lumps either side.

Since adding the waterlife treatment, his fast breathing seems to have slowed down?

Is he eating the peas?

he was getting thinner and the white patches were disappearing but he still wasn't interested in eating. He passed away today. ):
I was really hopeful he was going to fully recover. I think he would have recovered if I had noticed something wrong sooner. Thanks for the help on here anyway.

:-(

I am really sorry to hear that, it seems when they have bloated and it progresses to that level there is not really very much you can do to help or cure.
