is there any cold water fish that would live in a 4 us gallon side of a paludarium it will be roughly 18 inch long x 12 inch wide x and 4 inches deep

with a filter obv

get a small heater and you could keep a trio of african dwarf frogs :good:

White Cloud Minnows ?

the tank is too small for WCMM. first of all they are a schooling fish, need to be kept in groups of at LEAST 6 fish, which this tank is too small for...a 10 gallon would be the minimum I would put them in just because they grow around 1.5 - 2 inches, need swimming and shoaling room.

just measured its actually 5 gallons

i forgot to mention id like to feed flake and frozen as a treat occasionally

what about paradise fish?

the depth is actually 5 inches when i remeasured still to small ???

i thought that but then i think it would be perfect for a air breather

What is the temp going to be?Some killifish or Ricefish can be kept quite cool and they are bred in small tanks so worth looking at

every type of shoaling fish is meant to be kept just like that...in a SHOAL

and i understand you worked in a fish shop....but even you need to admit that fish stores often sell fish to people with insufficient tanks, tank mates, and experience.

if they are called shoaling fish, why would you keep them in any other way? a shoal is a natural part of their life and should be mimicked in the aquarium

You could fit some ADF in there.

thats what i suggested too! apart from shrimp and snails, I can't think of anything else that could live in this tank...

i keep 4 mountain minnows in a 5g uk no problem if shoaling fish need to shoal why dont they when they are relaxed
if they NEED to

scot :)

LOL - just a note, they 'are' amlost always shoaling, its just that they naturally form loose shoals, just like they would in the wild, this looks to the observer like a disproportionate disorganised spread, but its not :D
