No if u hav a small filter. I kept mine in a 5 gallon tank with the Penn Plax small world filter n they r ok. Frys like gentle water current.

As for my experience in raising frys, I feed them 4 times a day, vacuum clean at least once a day, doing water change every 4 days. There's small gravel on 1/2 of the tank, with a live plant n 2 medium sized rocks.

Yeah, but sooner or later the frys will outgrow the net n u'll need another tank to put them into. They'll only b safe with the adult fishies when they r 3-4 months old! That's just my opinion, no offense taken.
