Arghh! Broken handle on my eheim ecco. Looking at replacing possibly, looking around the ex1200 doesn't seen bad value. However I have a ex700 that just fits width wise in my cupboard. is the ex1200 wider? or just taller?

Just a quick question, how good do you rate the ex700? I've got a trigon 190 with built in filter and am planning on upgrading. Really like the ex700 but would I be better off going for the ex 1200 or would that be OTT?

If you are going to upgrade anyway i would go for the EX1200, I have this on my 400 litre tank, along with ehiem Pro and overhead filter.
It is pretty big compared to the Ehiem Pro which is supposed to be for tanks upto 250 litres and EX1200 is for tanks between 200 - 500. So I would make sure you have room for it first.
I would rate the EX1200 have not experience on the smaller one but would say it would be the same.
I have just ordered an ex 1200 for my trigon 190, it should arrive in next couple of days so will let you know how I get on!
