Is tetra a good fish brand? Are their filters, pumps, and heaters good?

Yep pretty solid, I mostly see that brand more for beginning hobbyists, but many of its products are used by more experienced aquarists as well.

trying to see if they're reliable for heters, pumps and filters and if they can keep my fish healthy

For heaters I would probably go with Aqueon's black plastic ones (the non-exploding version of Marineland's Stealths).

For HOB filters I would go with AquaClears.

For canister filters I would go with Fluvals.

For Air pumps I prefer Azoo.

For powerheads I like the Hydor Koralia Evolutions.

Its not usually the gear you buy to run the tank that fails, its normally the owners lack of knowledge that causes the majority of problems.

Tetra make some great filters, i have two big externals myself that im very impressed with, now i've used them, i wouldnt go back to the Fluval range of canisters.

Personally rate tetras external filters highly, way above rena and fluval, although I have never used any of their air pumps, internals or heaters, so can't comment there,

I wouldn't like to have things that would fail me easily, so i've been researching lately

Any pictures of these Tetra filters? You guys must get a very different Tetra filter (or Fluval filter) than we get over here if you like them more than Fluvals.

The Tetratec is roughly 3 times bigger

3x bigger than which Fluval?

It looks like the Marineland C-series canister, which I can't stand. But it looks like it could be different enough to not have the issues I have seen. Either way I haven't used one so can't say much.

wow that's one powerful filter  i used a bubble filter since i breeded fish in my 10 gallon and now i'm going to breed some more, maybe cory cats or platies :) but that's a big filter, gunna look into it more!

I've been recently looking a what type of filter i could get though...
