ok so around 10 last night i noticed the first fry! (that was eaten tho)

then by 12 i had caught 5 and put them in the breeder box thing.

Then this morning at 5 i got another one into the box.

so now i have 6.

should she have more?

is this an unusual number?

It's not unusual, you will probably find more around in the tank if they haven't been eaten, they're very good at hiding, have a look under plant leaves, ornaments or even in the gravel you may spot some more :)

Congrats on your fry :good:

they kept hiding in my cave thing when i went to go catch them!

A platy fry drop should have left more than 30 fry in the tank but predation can reduce the number rather quickly Snowflight. As Harlequins said, if you have found 6 there are at least another 3 or 4 waiting for you to find them.

still haven't found anymore, but still looking!

is it possible that she is too stressed to have the rest because i can see like half the amount of little eyes in her gravid spot compared to the other day?

I had a tuxedo platy that unfortunately died from dropsy, but before she died, when I moved her into a hospital tank, I was surprised to soon find 3 fry at the bottom of the tank. 2 were dead, however the third is still alive and growing. Whether or not dropsy caused her to only give birth to 3, I'm not sure though.

I know this is off-topic, but does that sticker on your aquarium say "Get a Life?" (The420buzz?)

Congrats on the fry. :good:

That one was to me Snowflight, haha.

@fryforever; Nice eye :p Indeed it is a 'Get A Life' sticker. Just a little reminder when I look at my tank, lol.
