is my pleco pregnat or gona DIE!!!!!!>?????

why is it getting so fat?

i dont know anything about breeding these
im all about cichlids

i have 5 of these why is my biggest getting fat???
its by its self for the last 1 1/2 - 2 months
could it be preanat??/?

is it gonna explode

its almost 14" now

please help

i have never seen a plec so big!! i take it youve seen it poo? wow!!! hope you figure it out soon though.

unfortunatly the last time i saw one that bloated - it was dead soon after.

Not gravid, it looks ill I am sorry to say. More details might help, but I wouldn't count on it. First thing to do would be to try and feed some shelled peas if it will take them.

it goes up to the top and eats the 3/8 inch pellets i give my Jag.
and it dose # 2 ,,,,a whole lot!!! !!!! its definatly not constipated

if it is sick is their anything i can do???

how do i know if its pregnat or not?
do they lay eggs or live?

They lay eggs, but it's not pregnant or gravid, its ill (if you prove me wrong I will be happy). i know you say its not constipated, if not then you have a very poorly plec, sorry. I love commons.

i am guessing around 20 pellets a day for my Jag and the pleco in the same tank
3/8in pellets

pleco is hitting 14 and jag is 14+

they eat it all

They lay eggs, but it's not pregnant or gravid, its ill (if you prove me wrong I will be happy). i know you say its not constipated, if not then you have a very poorly plec, sorry. I love commons.

If it's eating all those pellets, it's getting far too much protein which can cause bloat.

Give him as much sliced zucchini (weighted down) as he can eat overnight twice a week and give him algae wafers in between.

Try to avoid letting him gorge on the pellets at all and cut down on the amount you feed the whole tank drastically for a few weeks.

If you're lucky, he might get over it.

he dosent eat the alge wafers my cons are the only ones i ever see eating them

ill get some ofthe other stuff

and he goes right to the top to get the floating pellets

ill get my jag some feeders to keep her busy

well i stopped feeding my jag with the pelllets, and put some feeders in for it.

and it seems that i just had a FAT pleco, he eats too much
he is getting slimer and is fine

back on normal diet now

Plecs like Cukes and Zuchini. cut a slice and then Blanch it ( microwave till it gets really hot in water) Then put it in and yur Plec should eat it. It may take a while to get used to.
