What does the "white stuff" on your plec acctualy look like?

Is it a film or spots or is it fluffy???

what are the water peramiters?

As in ammonia nitrite and nitrate and ph???

oh is it i through it was smaller than that  my tank & yours are the same size than :)

its looks fluffly & long bits are coming off him

that sounds like a fungal infection, you should treat it imidately....

Fungal infections are a seconary infection (as in they are aftermaths of some other illness)

are any of your fish exibiting any other symptoms????

do they have tiny white spots on them (the size of a pin head)

well in the guppies tank a guppy got somthing
i through it was white spot but
the guppy has got spots of white & spots of red ( blood ) & they are the the size of a pin head
i do move the plants around a lot

should i kill the guppy

i`d recomend doseing with both pimafix and melafix, pima fix will deal with the open sored on your fish and melafix will kill the white spot.. and aid regeneration if that dosent work i`d then start with some stronger stuff...

i recomend kingbrittish ws3

why did you not treat the tank when you saw the guppy was ill???

if it helps this all happened today
the plec was piling the sand a few days ago but the white stuff on him happened today
& the guppy with blood & white stuff was today
so should i kill the guppy
there is no open sores on the plec
just white stuff

thanks

no point killing the guppy, if it is white spot then the tank is infested with it already and you need to treat it...

get some medication in the tank

the guppy got blood spots so is that white spot or something else

pimafix and melafix------will they have that in my local pet store
will putting that in my tank harm the other tank

white spot is acctualy a parasite that forms cists on the fish when theese cists burst they can leave bloody spots...

what medication do you have on hand?

i through i had some but i can not find any

so when i got to the fish store tomz i need to get

bogwood--- for the plec to have some places to hide
white spot stuff ---- for the guppies
kingbrittish ws3 ------ for the plec & the white stuff
have i forgotten anything

It sounds bacteria to me if the fish has red spots it septicemia and hard to cure once it has progressed, whitespot look like grains of salt on the fish, columnaris looks fluffy.

king brittish ws3 is white spot treatment.

you need something to treat the fungal infection on the plec, such as pimafix, melafix will also help to treat the whitespot

oh so
me putting my hands in the tank like every 2 days has prob caused it
so is it septicemia or white spot

is this right

bogwood--- for the plec to have some places to hide
king brittish ws3 ---- for the guppies
pimafix------ for the plec & the white stuff
