Hi! Was hoping for an opinion. Is this platy fish pregnant?” it definitely looks like it is but I wanted to be sure and wanted to know if she is how long until she gives birth? I’m not putting her in a breeding box as I don’t want to move her because i think she may be far gone so I want to avoid stress to her as much as possible sorry that she’s doing her business in the photo it was the only chance I got of her without the other fish being in the shot

She also is still quite active but not as much as she used to she just goes around different parts of the tank where it’s quiet and just sits there for a bit until another fish comes and bothers her

If she's been with a male/s then I would say, yes. Even when you don't have a male, females are able to store sperm for several months and are able to get pregnant even without a male.

At the stage of pregnancy your platy is, I'm not sure, but I'll tell you that female livebearers will be pregnant for 30 days or longer, longer if they are stressed. When she'll be in labour, her belly will be squared off.

Please, do not move her into a breeder box as this will stress her out and will make her abort her fry or delay her delivery.

Yeah I have left her in the tank normally but have put some breeding mops in for the fry to hide in when/if they are born. Her belly looks quite \__/ shaped rather than round when looking at her closely from the side

Good :) Be careful as fry can escape from the breeder box. The holes are sadly big enough for fry to escape.
If you want to feel secure with her fry surviving you can put in live dense plants like java moss, water wisteria, limnophila sessiliflora for fry to hide in and make sure you have a plant floating free, java moss is fine.
I almost forgot, hornwort is also a good plant to float for fry or to be attached to a decor as it doesn't like to be planted and also grows fast and removes some nitrates from water column :)

Awesome tank! ^_^
Are tou able to put in some live plants for the fry? Live plants will get some microorganisms (especially java moss) and algae for fry to nibble on.
I can’t at the moment and idk when she will have the fry. I have brine shrimp and flakes I can make Into a powder? And there’s breeding mops in the main tank for them to hide in

Breeding mols are great enough! Flakes and brine shrimp are great for fry too^_^ What are your water parameters? Maybe do a water change and see if that speeds things up? This works with mine :)
