I was just wondering if my molly fish is pregnant or just bloated? ( and if she is definitely a female?) she has a different tummy shape to the other female molly fish and I’ve never had a pregnant fish other than a platy so I wasn’t sure
I can’t really tell if there is a spot as she is a Dalmatian molly and is quite spotty and dark? also the water is cloudy as they had a 75% water change today Which unsettled the sand when the water was tipped in a bit, the filter normally sorts it out over night so by tomorrow it should be completely clear as usualHello and welcome to the forum!
Does it look like there is an enlarged spot near her anal fin?
Why is your water so cloudy? What are your water parameters?
We’ve only had her about a week there’s 10 Mollys in the tank, there are more females than males in there tho but she seems to have a bigger belly than all of the other femalesShe is a female (or a very late developing male). With fish of this colour it is hard to see a gravid spot. However, molly females have the ability to store sperm so if there is a male in the tank, or she has been in another tank with a male, she will most likely be storing sperm even if she is not pregnant at this moment. If she is pregnant, either she is only carrying a few eggs, or she is not very far along yet.
