I was just wondering if my molly fish is pregnant or just bloated? ( and if she is definitely a female?) she has a different tummy shape to the other female molly fish and I’ve never had a pregnant fish other than a platy so I wasn’t sure

Hello and welcome to the forum! :hi:

Does it look like there is an enlarged spot near her anal fin?

Why is your water so cloudy? What are your water parameters?

I can’t really tell if there is a spot as she is a Dalmatian molly and is quite spotty and dark? also the water is cloudy as they had a 75% water change today Which unsettled the sand when the water was tipped in a bit, the filter normally sorts it out over night so by tomorrow it should be completely clear as usual

She is a female (or a very late developing male). With fish of this colour it is hard to see a gravid spot. However, molly females have the ability to store sperm so if there is a male in the tank, or she has been in another tank with a male, she will most likely be storing sperm even if she is not pregnant at this moment. If she is pregnant, either she is only carrying a few eggs, or she is not very far along yet.

We’ve only had her about a week there’s 10 Mollys in the tank, there are more females than males in there tho but she seems to have a bigger belly than all of the other females
