Hey everyone! I’m new to fish keeping. I had three danio glow fish. Unfortunately two of them died because the heater broke and they didn’t make it. This one has always been the biggest but I’ve noticed it’s gettingeven bigger. We named it hulk because he likes to eat a lot and survived. I’ve attached a picture of it because I don’t know if it’s just fat or pregnant. Let me know what you guys think. I really don’t want it to be sick so I’m worried for it.

ztank - really? I used to have danios (hate them now after they started murdering each other and other fish). I was going to say are you sure this fish is a Danio? I don't think pregnant Danio's get that fat) - it just looks more like a tetra to me. But if they really do overeat until they die I would say he/she is just really fat. Diet time.

It's not a tetra as there's no adipose fin that I can see.....

It's clearly some sort of Danio. And yeah they eat a lot in fact from past experience I can say danios are just dumb eating machines. I was once feeding my fish when I reached in the tank to fix up a fallen plant and when I raise my hand I see a danio swam inside it so I quickly put him back. First thing he did was just go back to stuffing himself. Another time I was vacuuming and a piece of fish food was laying on the bottom and flew up with the debris stirred up by the vacuum and the fish was ready to swim right up into the vacuum for 1/10 of a old soggy flake.

Yep they are greedy and eat alot, I have to make sure I put food in in 2 places in my tank for both the danios and the tetras otherwise the danios eat all of it.
