is my fish poorly sick???

hiya guys n gals

i've just noticed that my blood parrot has developed a black/grey patch above its head and her lips have the same black/grey colout to them......she was bright yellow yesterday

is she ill???

i just had a read and thought maybe it was Trichodinal

anyone got any ideas

It may be Ammonia burn, happens if a fish is taken from a low ammonia environment and put into a tank with a higher level, I think it may also occur if you get a massive ammonia spike.

hey flippin

ive just tested my water and ammonia and nitrite levels are nil

she hasnt been moved from 1 tank to another....she's been in ther for about 2 months now

anymore ideas?

It might be scabs, on the lips anyway, has it been shifting rocks or anything.
I don't know much about black spot, but do you have any snails in the tank.
Also and this is worst case scenario, try and find some info on Thyroid tumor, or malignant cancer tumors.
It could be something to do with the neuro pathways that control skin colouring being damaged or infected.

ive not seen her shiftin rocks or gravel......she's still small

its like she's reverting back to her colours when i got her

she's not a dyed parrot....so she was a natural dark grey colour.....but as she's got a bit older shes gone all yellow......but she did have a grey patch infront of her dorsal fin...was only small....but its got a bit bigger

its only happened overnight.....thats why im so puzzled

sounds like a Bruise - black eye mybe he hit the side of the tank a bit hard?
