Its the filter that comes with it as standard, and ive noticed, it doesnt actually blow bubbles out, should it? :S

There is air coming out of it slightly if you put your finger in front of it, and the filter when switched on makes a humming noise, so it must be working, its just my other tank which has a Fluval2 filter, pumps little bubbles out...

In my new tank, (juwel) i have an air blanket running along the back, so there are bubbles from that, but i was a bit concerned about my filter :S

My brother has the same model as me, and his doesnt seem to blow out bubbles either, so i hope im not worrying for nothing...

Advice anyone?

As far as I know, that system doesn't produce bubbles but rather moves the water.
I understand you can get an agitator for it, if bubbles are what you're after.

Yeah thats right i have one fitted which is below-

These air diffusers use venturi(?) action to draw more air through the outlet nozzle, can't say it creates air bubbles apart from when it is started up after a water change. They are available at quite a few online retailers for about seven quid.

I have a juwel 180 and have adjusted the out flow pipe to cascade down onto the surface of the water. It works fine like that. Actually juwel tanks are best for planted tanks, the filtration they use is ideal for plants.

All my four tanks are Juwel tanks, each on of them has the standard filter in it and they are not supposed to create bubbles although as stated in previous posts you can buy a venturi (they are a little noisy though), your better of with airstones attached to a decent airpump, ive found the most quiet (after buying various pumps) is the Rena brand.

If your worried about filtration though and u see poop lying in the gravel and building up then its got a problem, if its clearing all the muck out then its working fine (you'll always get a little bit of poop that dont go down the filter, hence useful to have a syphon handy when water changing cos its vacs it up :) ), with the 180 i believe its supplied with the powerhead 600, ive also got a 180 (not vision) but uses same powerhead and i upgraded to the powerhead 1000 just for the extra suction from the powerhead to drag that tank water through the filters better.

Great thanx..!!

I havnt got a clue, the filter does make a humming noise, but i bought it 2nd hand,(the tank i mean, and it came with the filter/heater) i have got new foams in there etc, i also have a bubble blanket (not sure of name) accross back of tank, so this creates bubbles up back, and on top of tank, so im fine as far as bubbles go lol.

I just wondered about my filter thats all....

Thanx for all your help :*

I,ve just realised what the problem is. If you look at the blue piece you can see it is actually two separate pieces which twist, as you twist you will see a small hole appear and get incresingly larger having the effect of creating more bubbles.
